In the media and entertainment industry, understanding color space is essential to making sure that the final output of content not only matches required design and brand guidelines, but also works with the technology and hardware workflows. In TouchDesigner, we can use the OpenColorIO TOP (which uses the OpenColorIO library) to apply different transformations to images and textures.
In this topic, we’ll look at the different ways we can use the OpenColorIO TOP to apply transformations to our content using: color space, file transforms, and CDL (Color Decision Lists).
Note: in the OpenColorIO TOP, on the Color Space Transform page, Rec 709 Linear has ‘(sRGB)’ appended. Rec 709 Linear (sRGB) is labeled as such because both Rec 709 and sRGB have the identical gamuts and are linear. For non-linear sRGB, use the ‘sRGB -Texture’ option.
