The Kinect CHOP provides the positional and skeletal data from the Microsoft Kinect sensor. This sensing device has long been a favorite for installation artists and game developers for its ability to incorporate the sensed movement of players into various digital experiences. The data from the Kinect CHOP is represented as individual CHOP channels and often needs some degree of processing to trigger events in a TouchDesigner network. In this example we look at how we can track a user’s hand and sense when it is in the proximity of a target area.
