Overview:

The history of what’s happened in a network can be useful. For new TouchDesigner artists it’s often useful to see the history of a CHOP’s output to better understand transitions, state changes and animation in a network. The Trail CHOP the most useful CHOP for seeing changes over time in the network. The trails may also be used to create geometry, draw elements on screen, or create motion path lookups for animation components.

Capturing user input movement can be a complex undertaking, and the gestureCapture component from the TouchDesigner palette is a pre-built tool that can capture user movement for display as curves, dots, or free-hand drawn shapes. You can learn more about the gestureCapture component here.
